Cody Miller Receives Keys To Las Vegas & Las Vegas Strip, Has Day Named After Him

Two-time Olympic medalist Cody Miller has been enjoying a dream victory lap since arriving back in the United States, with his most recent honors being received in Las Vegas, NV where he attended high school and swam on the club team.

The first honor Miller received by the city of Las Vegas was the announcement that August 29th would, going forward, be known as “Cody Miller Day.”

As if that wasn’t exciting news enough Miller was then given a key to the city of Las Vegas, as well as a key to the Las Vegas strip, making him the ninth person to have a key bestowed upon them.

Miller took the time to talk to the Sandpipers of Nevada club team, as well as the Palo Verde high school swim team, about his experience at the Olympic Games, thanking Sandpipers CEO Ron Aitken. Miller is the first Sandpiper to ever make an Olympic team.

16-year-old Erica Sullivan of the Sandpipers commented that, “Not a lot of people see Vegas as a swimming city. It’s good to know we’re starting to be seen as one of those clubs because of Cody.”

When asked about all of the praise he is receiving, Miller stated, “I don’t really think it’s fully soaked in yet. I’m just kind of living on a high right now. When I’m at home everything feels normal, but the second I walk outside and see people it’s kind of crazy.”

Moving forward Miller has a wedding to plan with fiancé Ali DeWitt and is enjoying eating pizza for breakfast.
