Swimming World Magazine - Newsmaster Internship
Sports Publications International, publishers of Swimming World Magazine and SwimmingWorldMagazine.com, are seeking qualified individuals for multiple Newsmaster Intern positions.
We are seeking qualified individuals for multiple intern positions to cover Masters, College, Club, World, Swimming World TV and Swimming World Radio news channels.
Responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for a selected news channel; assisting with other news channel coverage; and editing press releases sent to SwimmingWorldMagazine.com from various public relations entities across the world.
The editorial positions require excellent writing skills, flexible hours (including some weekend work) and a working knowledge of the sport of swimming. The video and audio positions also require some experience in video and/or audio production.
This is a semester-to-yearlong, for-credit Internet-based position starting when it best suits the successful candidate's academic plan. There is no need for relocation.

2008 STANFORD SWIM CAMPS
Camp counselors/coaches needed for this Nike sponsored swim camp. Work with and learn from Stanford Head Men’s Coach Skip Kenney and Head Women’s Coach Lea Maurer as they provide 3 sessions of instruction on the beautiful Stanford University campus. Camp instruction will have a unique focus on stroke technique and mechanics. Prior to employment, applicants must be coaching members of U.S. Swimming and certified in Coaches Safety Training, CPR and First Aid. Dates for the 2008 camps are 6/21-26, 7/12-17, and 7/19-24. Job Descriptions: Aquatics Instructor Key Roles: The Aquatics Instructor is responsible for the instruction of many of the female "Learn to Swim Program" aquatics programs at Seoul Foreign School including: Curricular and extra curricular aquatics activities. Key across all divisions; Responsibilities Assist with the organization and co-ordination of the swimming program; Provision of "Learn to Swim" lessons across all divisions in collaboration with Aquatics Instructor and Physical Education faculty; Assist in the preparation of pool calendar for curricular activities; Preparation of pool calendar and lifeguard roster for extra curricular activities; Maintenance of Aquatics Webpage; Assistance in the maintenance, security, cleanliness and safety of the aquatics facility; Assist in the co-ordination of one divisional swim club (extra-curricular activity) and coach or assistant coach one of the school's divisional swim teams. This includes organizing the swim team's entries using Team Manager and attending weekend swim meets with the team; Assist in the set up of swim meets for all divisions using Meet Manager, and the running of, Water Safety and packing up of "at home" swim meets, Key Requirements: First Aid, CPR Instructor certificate (Instructor/Trainer preferred); Lifeguard Instructor certificate (Lifeguard Instructor Trainer) certification; Minimum of three (3) years experience working as a swimming preferred); Good understanding of stroke technique and swimming skills and as instructor; Computer knowledge and background in both Learn to Swim and Squad Training; skills using email, Word, Publisher, Excel and Access. Hy-tek software experience an advantage.
Key Reports: The Aquatics Instructor reports to the Aquatics Director. He/she meets with the Aquatics Director on a regular weekly/bi-weekly basis to ensure that constant communication is maintained in all areas of his/her responsibility.
Appraisal: Appraisal to follow a modified version of the Teacher Performance Appraisal carried out by the Aquatics Director under the supervision of the Activities Director .
Intern Key Roles: The Aquatics Intern works alongside the Aquatics Director and Aquatics Instructor to ensure the success of the various aquatics programs at Seoul Foreign School. Such programs include the extra-curricular aquatics activities before and after school for the four divisions, head coach of the Middle School/Key Stage 3 team, and head coach of the High School Varsity swim team. Additionally, the intern will assist of the instruction of swimming for the British Division for 9 weeks each academic year.

Head Coach
The Findlay Area Swim Team (FAST) a year round USA Swimming program is looking for a qualified, dedicated and experienced head swim coach. Founded in 1972, FAST has a rich tradition of producing highly competitive athletes. FAST is a member of the Ohio Swimming Inc. LSC.
The ideal candidate must possess the following characteristics:
- At least 2 or more years experience in a swimming team coaching capacity
- Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Certification
- Current USA Swimming Coaches Certification
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of competitive swimming skills, stroke mechanics, and the ability to implement and teach these skills in a positive, healthy manner
- Must have strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Must have basic computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)
- A basic knowledge of Hy-Tek Team Manager software is a plus
- Must have a working knowledge of and the ability to use email and the internet
- Ability to recruit and retain swimmers through promotion of the program
- Ability to demonstrate personal characteristics that will provide appropriate leadership to young swimmers, parents, community and the USA Swimming world
- Ability to cooperate with the Findlay Swimming Community including local high school, summer league and university teams
